Alan Blanchard

Alan began his career in legal publishing producing market-leading content for professionals in legal, tax and regulatory sectors. Digitisation of traditional content was a key feature of that role and he took that experience with him to the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK's financial services watchdog, where he overhauled the digital version of the FCA's Handbook with the aim of producing machine-readable rules. This coincided with the rise of RegTech and Alan joined Apiax in 2019 to deliver on the huge potential of making compliance easy for everyone.

Andrew Delaney

Andrew Delaney is A-Team’s President & Chief Content Officer, based in London and New York. He has been involved in information gathering and dissemination around financial markets IT since 1987. He joined A-Team in 2002 to spearhead the company’s publishing activities and today runs A-Team’s range of content offerings across our online communities and for our clients.

Before joining A-Team, Andrew spent three years building a financial information distribution platform aimed at the off-trading-floor marketplace. Prior to that he spent 11 years at Waters Information Services in a variety of senior roles including editor-in-chief, senior vice president of global sales, and general manager of North American operations. He also spent time with Banking Technology magazine in London and The Wall Street Journal in Brussels.

Angus Moir

Head of Data Collection Transformation

Bank of England

Angus is responsible for delivering a transformation of the way the Bank collects data from the UK financial sector. Previously, he led the Bank’s engagement in the Digital Regulatory Reporting initiative and played a key role in delivering a new supervisory dataset from the UK’s CCPs. Prior to dedicating his life to data and data collection, he held a number of roles at the Bank and in the private sector, primarily with a focus on risk analysis.

Originally an economist by training, his current primary interest, apart from improving data collection, is how to write rules and regulations in a “digital first” manner.

Gavin Stewart

Grant Thornton

Gavin is a well-established commentator on regulation, posting a daily blog on regulatory developments and (with David Morrey) presenting our monthly Regulatory Update podcast. He also writes the Foreword for Grant Thornton’s weekly Regulatory Update newsletter, as well as guest articles and podcasts for other organisations. He has 27 years’ experience working for financial services’ regulators (Bank of England, FSA & FCA), holding a wide variety of roles including as a bank supervisor, FSA Head of Strategy, Planning & Performance, and FCA Chief Risk Officer. He joined Grant Thornton in 2016.

Graham Corr a Senior Financial Services Industry Consultant at Teradata. Graham joined Teradata in 2020 from NatWest where he held various roles across Regulatory Reporting, Finance and Treasury. Prior to this, Graham worked at Morgan Stanley, HSBC and KPMG.  At Teradata, Graham works with leading European financial services institutions to help them extract more business value from their data. He focuses on the value of detailed and complex data; especially in the areas of Regulation, the proliferation of "Big Data", the challenges around Data Science, and the business change required to deliver sustainable growth.

Harry Eddis

Harry practises all aspects of financial markets regulatory advice for banks, broker-dealers, investment managers and other financial services institutions. Harry provides guidance on all regulatory issues facing the financial services industry and he has helped steer clients through all recent regulatory implementation projects, including Brexit, MiFID II, AIFMD and, more recently, CSDR. He also advises on all aspects of day-to-day compliance with regulatory issues, including perimeter guidance, authorisation requirements, SMCR, market abuse and other market conduct requirements, CASS and client money requirements. Harry also has particular expertise in market infrastructure and is a market-leading expert on clearing platforms. Harry is one of the Co-Heads of Fintech at Linklaters and is a FinTech expert, advising on the regulatory implications that apply to existing and new entrants to the market. He has been advising entities in this sector for many years, going back to the establishment of BrokerTec and SwapsWire in 2000. He is currently advising a number of firms in the payment and clearing sectors, including in the use of blockchain.

Karen Bassett

Karen manages the Bank of England Data Services Group and is the Product Owner for the Statistical project to migrate reporting from OSCA to BEEDS, the Bank's strategic data collection platform. A large part of the project involves supporting Statistical Reporters along the journey to migrate reporting to an XBRL format from the existing XML submission format.

Karen has worked at the Bank of England for 20 years with a majority of those years spent driving improvements in the data collection space. Karen has also worked in a number of roles in the Bank, including a support role for the Deputy Governor for Financial Stability at the time of the Banking crisis in 2007/8.

Matthew Tyrrell

As head of the FCA’s central data function, Matthew is responsible for the provision of data advisory, collections, governance and operational services to the organisation. Most recently, Matthew directed the replacement of the FCA’s Gabriel system, delivering the new RegData platform and migration of 52,000 firms, 120,000 users and their data. With over 15 years of experience in regulation, Matthew has led teams in authorisations, data and supervision.

Prior to the IA, Nic worked for UK Finance and its predecessor, the BBA, on prudential policy issues and had roles at Deutsche Bank (regulatory management), Bank of England (non-bank risk analysis), PRA (bank supervision), FSA (wealth management supervision) and EY (external audit funds).

Nigel Willis

Nigel is a Partner in PwC’s Financial Services Risk and Regulatory practice and is Head of our Banking and Capital Markets Regulatory Assurance Team. He has 25 years of experience in Prudential Regulation. Prior to joining PwC Nigel led the Prudential Regulation teams at both Deloitte and Ernst & Young. He has also led various regulatory and product control teams within Financial Institutions, and is a qualified ACA. He is Chair of PwC’s Regulatory Technical Panel that reviews and opines upon all complex regulatory technical matters of interpretation. Nigel has worked with most of the major retail and wholesale investment banking groups over the last 15 years, assisting them with various regulatory capital and liquidity programmes. Paul has over 30 years client-facing and management experience in the financial technology space, with companies including Matrix-IFS, Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, DST, Algorithmics and Reuters. Covering the front-, middle-office and compliance functions, Paul has a strong background in the regulatory challenges that institutions face in risk management, regulatory reporting, GRC, AML and fraud spaces.

Paul has been involved in several new technology global projects in the Banking and Insurance sectors, both from a technology and business perspective.

Ruddy Vincent

Dr. Ruddy Vincent is a Director for Data and Digital Solutions at ISDA. As a former academic, business and technology consultant in Capital Markets, he joined ISDA in 2018 where he manages in particular the Common Domain Model: an ISDA global transformative initiative that will aid the financial industry digital agenda by standardizing how financial transactions are traded and managed across their trade lifecycle. As an SME in cross-functional strategic deliveries of large and complex multi-disciplinary operational and regulatory transformations, Mr. Vincent is an advocate for the standardization and automation of efficient banking processes underpinned by robust data management frameworks both in legacy infrastructures as well as upcoming technologies (DLT, digital regulatory reporting, machine executable business logic, automatable standardized legal agreements, and others).

Simon Hills

Simon Hills is Director of the Prudential Capital and Risk Team at the UK Finance. His team focuses on influencing the shape of the reforms to Basel 3 as they are implemented in the UK and more broadly. He interacts with politicians, finance ministries, regulators and central bankers around the world. He is also interested in crisis management, Recovery and Resolution Planning and different types of bank capital and funding instruments .He also leading the UK Finance’s work on the introduction of the Senior Managers’ and Certification regime.

His banking background is in fixed income sales, trading and origination and he also has experience of energy and aerospace project finance. He studied at London Business School and Imperial College and has also completed a Masters’ in Financial Services Regulation at Guildhall University and holds the Institute of Directors’ Diploma in Company Direction. He is liveryman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.

Hanbury has twenty years professional experience working in financial risk management, and of this fifteen are specifically in regulatory risk. His expertise has been developed in both the client environment, with senior regulatory roles at firms including Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Royal Bank of Scotland. His day to day experience in VERMEG (and its precursor company) has included responsibility for reviewing and overview of work by VERMEG’s global regulatory reporting Subject Matter Expert teams, including for our UK, European, North American and, Hong Kong, Singapore and India and Australia solutions. He is now responsible for approving overall functional (business) design of new functions and products, ensuring the business functional designs of the regulatory reporting products, with vital oversight of the interpretation of rules.
